Disorderly Planner Review and Giveaway!

If you're a planner person, you know that half of it is planning and the other half is the decorating. I mean, come on, everyone loves a cute weekly layout. When I got my planner last year before Christmas I didn't realize what I was getting into. Then I went down the rabbit hole and started looking at Etsy for stickers. I spent so much time searching for different stickers and getting lost in all the adorable Etsy shops. One day I came across a post from Jenna showing off her adorable Merllama stickers and gear. Ya'll, I fell in love with that lapel pin. It's seriously the most adorable thing ever and he's actually currently hanging out on my desk. She ended up sending me a friend request and while I don't normally accept them from internet strangers, something told me this would turn out to be a great friendship. And I was definitely right.
I've gotten to give her some great feedback for products, shoot her ideas of things I think would be adorable (because I'm no wear near as talented as she is) and even ended up becoming a rep for her shop. So my Instagram will be filled with cute pictures of her stickers! I recently had some custom ones done of myself and now my five year old son is begging me to have some made for him as well. Jenna does amazing hand drawn designs and gorgeous water color stickers as well.

When I was looking on Etsy, I will admit, I got overwhelmed. What if I get some stickers and they're crappy quality? What if they're not as great in person as they are in the picture. I have always been impressed with the quality and designs I've gotten from Disorderly Planner. Jenna really does go above and beyond to make sure her stickers are great quality. She also has great, affordable prices on her stickers. And she often runs some pretty awesome sales. Tuesday is always a big sale day in the planner world so you definitely want to check her shop out then.

One of the things I really love about her shop is her custom stickers. I've sent her tons of ideas that she's brought to life and I've been thoroughly impressed with them every single time. As a free gift with purchase, I got the most adorable "Oh the Places You'll Go!" sticker kit. She killed it you guys. She's seriously the most talented person I know! I also got the back to school kit for my son who just started Kindergarten. Guys, it's seriously the cutest kit ever.

Not only does she have the cutest stickers in her shop, she has tons of other cool things. She has lapel pins, decals, page markers, washi tape, cookie cutters, mystery boxes, a mermaid compact mirror and so much more! You can get the coolest collaboration boxes as well. She teams up with others to bring you the cutest items in a theme that they choose. I even got some adorable planner covers that I'm really in love with. She really has so many awesome things you can get!

Here are some super cute spreads I've done in my planner with her stickers. There are honestly, very few weeks I don't use her stickers because I love them so much. You can also check out my Instagram for more spreads because I have many more on there using her adorable sticker kits. You can also check out her Instagram as well. You'll also want to join her Facebook chat group because there's always cool stuff going on in there!

Oh and because she is super awesome, my friend Jenna agreed to do a $10 store credit for my readers! Fun, I know. So all you have to do is fill out the Rafflecopter below and I'll pick a winner in a week or two. The rules are simple, you must follow the two of us on Instagram and please don't unfollow after the giveaway ends. That's just rude. Stick around, we're pretty cool people. There will be a couple optional entries on there as well. Complete them, or not. It's totally up to you. If you do, those are just extra entries into the giveaway.
Good luck and happy planning!

Rox + Rumble Wool Pants Review and Giveaway!

Rox + Rumble specializes in wool for your little ones. They try to create unique and trendy designs inspired by art and imagination for your stylish kiddos. All of Rox + Rumble's products are designed in the USA and made in Romania. Megan Dahm is the heart and soul behind Rox + Rumble. She has three boys, Everett, Cashiuss and Jagger. Her three boys are her inspiration. She was having trouble finding pants that fit her boys properly as they were either too big in the waist or too wide for the leg. Her mission was quite simple, create pants that are not only going to be trendy for her boys but pants that could be worn by girls as well. The reason she chose wool was because of its versatility, and this is when the Woolsters were born! Along with her super adorable wool, she wanted to create t-shirts to match the colors of the Woolsters. Megan is continually looking for inspiration to keep Rox + Rumble fresh and fashionable. If you ask Megan, she loves the beach, reading (whenever time allows), board games and time with her family.

Rox + Rumble sources their extra fine merino wool from Italy. It is tested for harmful substances according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and meets all the requirements of the Italian Ministry of Health!  Rox + Rumble is an extremely fun brand who loves to hear from their customers. If you own some Rox + Rumble wool, use the hashtag #roxrumble to show off your threads for a chance to be featured by them!
I've always been really intimidated to try wool. The thought of lanolizing it made me even less willing to try it out. Then I stumbled into
the Rox + Rumble Chit Chat page on Facebook and couldn't believe how adorable all that wool was. I reached out to Megan to see if she wanted to partner up for a review because I wanted as many people as possible to see how cute all this wool is! I gave Megan my little guy's stats and guessed which size I thought he'd be. Then I told her anything blue would be amazing because that's his favorite color. And really guys, it's ridiculously hard to go on her website and pick out just one favorite piece of wool. She sent us the gorgeous Nautilus. You guys, these wool pants are way more gorgeous in person than in photos.

So you may be wondering why wool, right? Well the simple truth is that wool is amazing. Here are some interesting things about wool that you might not have known. Wool regulates itself to body temperature. This is pretty awesome, I know. Because that means when it's cold outside your wool will keep your kiddo warm and when it's cold, your wool will keep your kiddo cool. Is this not the best thing ever?!
Wool also is a natural wicking fiber. It actually allows moisture to pass through without retaining any of the moisture in the wool itself. Wool can however absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without becoming damp or clammy. So even if your kiddo's Woolsters get wet, his/her body temperature stays warm. Along with that, its unique structure won't trap in any body odors. So you don't have to wash your Woolsters every time your kiddo wears them. Unless you know, they roll around in the mud or spill food all over them. In addition to all these already great things about wool, dirt sits right on the surface of the fiber. In most cases, it can be wiped off easily and the Woolsters dry quickly. They're also flame-retardant, not that you expect your kiddo to be on fire or anything. Adding some super cute Woolsters to your kiddos wardrobe is definitely a huge plus! And the Woolsters are a great pairing with cloth diapers!

Here's the big question though. How do you care for your Woolsters? Like previously mentioned, you don't have to wash them daily. But, when you do need to wash them, here are the proper washing instructions:

  • Step One: Rox + Rumble recommends that you handwash your Woolsters. However, some washing machines have a "wool cycle". If you feel you can trust your washer, feel free to wash them on the "wool cycle". The main concern is that you don't want to run into felting. This is when there is too much friction on the wool fibers and they start to shrink. You need to wash your wool with a very delicate soap or soap specifically for wool and follow the directions on the soap label.
  • Step Two: If you're hand washing, squeeze the water out. DO NOT wring it out. You can cover the Woolster in a towel and press out the excess water. Step Three: Dry flat and make sure you DO NOT USE ANY HEAT! If you do, they will felt and they will shrink and you'll probably cry if that happens.

I have to say that Megan is one of the nicest people I've chatted with. And one of the best business owners I've worked with. She's extremely present in her group and will answer any comments or questions you may have. I'm a giant lurker in the Chit Chat group and attend almost all the live stockings even if I don't purchase anything. Megan remembers her customers and even writes these super nice little notes to send out with your package. I was so excited to open our package and see Nautilus along with a sweet note from Megan. These Woolsters are stunning. I immediately put them on my son. He's two, nearly three and is on the chunkier and taller side of kids his age. I decided to go with 2T/3T because that's what size clothing he's currently in and he's still in cloth diapers. They fit him perfectly around the waist and he finds them to be extremely comfortable. They're slightly on the longer side, which I'm totally fine with because that means they'll fit him longer. So we just roll up the cuffs a little bit, which I think is a pretty common thing for people to do. He's been wearing his Woolsters almost daily since we've gotten them. They're his favorite pants to wear! It's been pretty cool here lately with a few warmer days in the mix and he can still wear them without getting too hot or too cold in them. Not only are they a perfect pair of pants for the daytime, they rock as nighttime pants as well! We like to pair them with any kind of nighttime diaper for him and this combination becomes a bullet proof nighttime solution with zero leaks and no wet sheets. Which makes me wonder why we didn't try wool a long time ago. These are by far the softest pants I've ever felt and the quality is amazing. I imagine these will be lasting us a long time as long as we're good to them.

I've been lurking on the group long enough to know that matching your Woolsters with cute shirts are a big deal. So I've taken it upon myself to snap a few photos of matches that I thought were pretty darn cute.

If pants aren't your jam, Rox + Rumble has some other amazing wool products as well. There are several types of pants you can choose from, of course. But there are also some other adorable styles. They have some super cute board shorts, capris, covers and euro shorts! It doesn't end there though. They also have throw blankets, baby blankets and the cutest tee shirts ever! So make sure you head on over to the website and check out all the cuteness going on over there! Be sure to also follow the social media accounts: Pinterest, Facebook along with the Chit Chat group, Twitter and Instagram! Be sure to join the Live Facebook stocking as well! This is where you'll see the new designs and have a chance to order some super cute wool! It'll be Friday, March 10 at 7 PM CST.

Now for the super exciting part! Megan has kindly offered a free pair of wool pants to one lucky reader! Yep, FREE! All you have to do is complete the form below. The giveaway will be opened for one week, so get those entries in! You will provide the size needed and Megan will pick the colorway. The giveaway will be open for one week, so get those entries in!

Did you also know that Harkla will donate 1% of your sale to the University of Washington's Autism Center?

Harkla sent me a weighted blanket for free for this review. I was in no other way compensated for my review and all opinions are my own!

Harkla has some great products for children who have Autism, Anxiety and ADHD. I reached out to Harkla because my five year old has sensory issues. Recently we've dealt with a lot of stress in our family with the loss of a family member along with the holidays. My kiddo was starting to have night terrors again, frequently. So I reached out to Harkla for the opportunity to review one of their great products. They sent me the 7 pound weighted blanket.
Normally my son hates blankets and will kick them off in the middle of the night. When we were expecting this blanket, I talked it up in hopes that he would get really excited about it. I called it his special blanket and told him it would help him during the night when he felt scared. This worked! He's been using it every single night since we got it and calls it his special blanket. If I almost forget it, he reminds me to cover him up with it or he'll be scared and have bad dreams. One night I forgot to put his blanket on him and we had a rough night of sleep. He had one of his worst night terrors he's had in a while. Nothing seemed to calm him down. So for 10-15 minutes I talked to him calmly, rubbed his back and let him know everything was alright. Once he calmed down just enough to lay back down, I quickly grabbed his Harkla blanket to cover him up. And I'm not exaggerating at all when I say he instantly went back to sleep as soon as I covered him up.

The weighted blankets are used for Autism, Anxiety or ADHD. You can either get a 5 pound blanket or a 7 pound blanket. If you're having trouble deciding which one, here's a good rule of thumb for you from occupational therapists. You take 10% of your child's body weight and add a pound or two. So if your child weighs 50 pounds, you'd take 10% of that (which is 5 pounds) and add one or two pounds to that. So you would want to buy the 7 pound blanket.
Harkla has a great guideline on their website as well. A 5 pound blanket is best for children who weigh 30 to 40 pounds which is typically ages 2 to 6. The 7 pound blanket is best for children who weigh 50 to 60 pounds which is typically 7 to 9 years of age. One of the great things about Harkla is that if you need a heavier blanket all you have to do is send them an email through their contact us (https://harkla.co/pages/contact-us) page and they'll update you when you're blanket is ready. It's also great to plan for your kiddos to grow quickly. So if you're child falls between the ranges, it might be best to go with the heavier blanket.

The weighted blankets are soft and comfortable. Exactly what your kiddos needs for a full night of restful sleep. The blanket is easy to wash and dry as well. All you need to do is remove the outer minky part of the blanket and wash it in cold water on a gentle cycle. Do not use fabric softener on it though because that will ruin the minky fabric. It's not recommended to wash the inside padding that often though.

When you receive your blanket in the mail, it will come in two parts. The outside minky cover and the inside weighted piece. To put the blanket together, you'll want to turn the minky cover inside out. Lay that flat on the ground with the padded piece right on top of it. Tie off the corners with a simple knot along with a second knot for reinforcement. Once that's finished on all four corners, turn the blanket right side out with the padding on the inside and zip the cover up!

My son has been using his blanket for quite a while now. We got it around the time that we had a lot of stressful things going on. If your kiddo has sensory issues, you know that stress really puts them into overdrive. My son started having nightmares more frequently along with night terrors and just restless sleep. He was so excited for his blanket to come in. I showed him on Harkla's website what he'd be getting. When we got it, we put it together and he tried it out immediately. (Then he let his younger brother try it out for just a few seconds.) The very first night we tried it out, he loved it. After using it for a while, we noticed that he was having better sleep in general. His nightmares and night terrors have been limited as well. It also helps him fall asleep a lot faster than he normally did. The one night we forgot to cover him up with it, he had an awful night terror. I felt so horrible for him. So I asked him what he thought about his blanket and here is what he had to say.

"When I sleep with it, it makes me not have bad dreams. I really like it. I wish I had one in red too! It helps me not feel scared at night when I go to sleep."  I can honestly say that we are extremely happy with this blanket. I had heard about weighted blankets a little bit but wasn't sure about it because he normally doesn't like blankets. But he uses it every single night.   If you have a kiddo who has sensory issues, autism, anxiety, ADHD or even just a really troubled sleeper, you should check out Harkla's weighted blankets! While you're there, check out their other products as well. We've been checking out the Harkla Pod Hanging Swing and have been considering getting that for our son as well! So browse their website for some really great products!

I just wanted to make a quick note. We do not let our younger son use the weighted blanket. However I did include the picture of him with it. It is NOT the correct weight he would be using. He does not sleep with it or use it (really ever) besides to take the picture because he wanted to be like his big brother.
